JR owns the biggest art gallery in the world.
He exhibits freely in the streets of the world, catching the attention of people who are not typical museum visitors. His work mixes Art and Act, talks about commitment, freedom, identity and limit.
After he found a camera in the Paris subway, he did a tour of European Street Art, tracking the people who communicate messages via the walls. Then, he started to work on the vertical limits, watching the people and the passage of life from the forbidden undergrounds and roofs of Paris.
And now he takes over Berlin!
The moving installation uses shards of vintage glass that rotate to create patterns of light on the store’s walls. Frank used Berlin’s rich history, his own design interpretation and inspiration from Mulberry materials and textures to create the piece. Here, he explains the production behind the installation, his inspirations, and its place in the Mulberry store.

Parallel zum “gallery weekend” 2013 ist diese CODEX BERLIN Ausstellung Gast an einem geschichtsträchtigen Ort – dem Hotel Bogota – einem Berliner Gebäude mit wechselvoller (Kultur-)Geschichte.BOGOTA – eine Ausstellung im Dialog mit dem Interieur und den Kunstgegenständen, die im Hotel Bogota seit der Entstehungszeit des Gebäudes gesammelt wurden.
Schwerpunkt sind 12 Positionen zeitgenössischer Kunst, die jeweils einen aktuellen Bezug zu den vorhandenen Kunstwerken aufbauen und die wechselvolle Geschichte des Gebäudes reflektieren.
